We are hosting a Chicago Marathon Group Coaching program to train for this year’s race and we would love for you to join us!
Get ready for 16 weeks of learning, progressing, getting stronger and faster, and having FUN so you line up on the Chicago starting line ready to fly!
Your coaches @elizabeth_healthy_life, @runwithblake and @drhollyrichard will be by your side through both running and strength training. Blake and Elizabeth have developed the marathon training plans, and Holly has created a strength training plan specific to the Chicago Marathon course.
Additionally, @featherstonenutrition will join us and speak all about fueling before, during, and after long runs.

Start simple. It can feel overwhelming to think Start simple. 
It can feel overwhelming to think about adding strength training into your busy life- especially when you just want to run with any free time you have. 
If you are struggling to find the time, my best suggestion is to start with a few exercises after your run. As in, don’t change out of your running clothes. Take off your running shoes and go.
Start with 2 exercises for the sake of simplicity. It can be any 2 exercises that will take you about 10 minutes to go through. I suggest squats because they focus quads/hamstrings, and glutes while also working the core. And then move on to hip thrusts to target your glutes. 
Do 3 sets of 12 reps of each exercise- moving slowly and with intention on each rep.

I often tell runners that focused core workout can help them mentally connect to their core while also getting physically stronger.
